Akusta soundproof glazing

The soundproofing abilities of Akusta glazings is based on a flexible acrylic resin layer that is laminated between glazings. The flexible resin layer insulates sound better than traditional PVB-film laminated soundproof glazings. Soundproof glazings are designed for spaces in which effective shield against distractive noise is required. Akusta glazings are suitable for all window and door structures.

Targets

Akusta soundproof glazings are an effective solution to buildings that are close to roads and traffic, and in which a simple glazing structure that fits standard windows is needed to block the sounds of traffic out. Soundproof glazings are also suitable for filtering factory noises in order to improve working conditions.  

Soundproofing

Insulating the problematic low audio frequencies caused by traffic is not possible with normal glazing structures. The average soundproofing ability of a standard model MSEL-window is 39 dB(A), and 34 dB(A) as indexed as traffic noise soundproofing, which is not enough for maintaining pleasant working or residency conditions.

By installing an Akusta soundproof glazing properly as one layer of a window, an average of 43 dB(A) is reached as the soundproofing ability. With properly selected Akusta soundproofing structures, a sufficient insulation of noise is acquired easily and with simple structures, and volume can be dropped to an acceptable level.



Colored glazings

It is also possible to make colored laminates with the manufacturing technique of Akusta soundproof glazings.
